Incredible.
The insoles are every bit as good as you'll read on this site. I was unable to do my usual running practice for several long-ish spells this year because of viral infections. After the most recent bug, I tried to resume the same intensity of running too quickly - and I injured my foot somewhere around the 3rd metatarsal head. I developed extensor tendonitis over the injury site - and what I suspect was some ligament damage. I just couldn't get over the injury. I could have tried orthotics, but I didn't want to weaken my feet by using insoles that stopped the muscles from working normally. I worried about getting injured again as soon as my practice resumed. Then I remembered that I had a pair of Barefoot Science insoles under the bed! I'd ordered them a few years back, when I first started running and developed plantar fasciitis. I got to the bottom of the plantar fasciitis myself, by improving my overall strength and fitness, and keeping my calves way more supple. So the BS insoles never came out of the box. I'm currently on level 6. My metatarsal issue is practically gone - and I'm running strongly again. I'd say my fitness is about 80-90% of where it was, and getting better all the time. I'm convinced that Barefoot Science insoles are what's got me back on track. My feet *feel* stronger. It's as though the muscle architecture is improving and taking more of the load, as it should, especially around the arch and big toe - so that the supportive ligaments and tendons and aren't being excessively strained. I think that's allowing the injury to heal properly. These insoles will be with me for years to come, I'm sure - as natural strengthening aids that improve and maintain overall function and form. Thanks, Barefoot Science people!
Therapeutic full length insoles
I am still on the first level, just wearing them around the house because I am having trouble finding the right shoes for them. I was hoping to use them in my runners but they are not flat enough. It is making a difference though. I injured my knee about four months ago and it was not healing well until I started wearing the insoles. Just about ready to change to next level.
Healed
For five years it felt like a knife was stabbing my toes. Many pros failed to fix this including a running expert chiro. Barefoot fixed it in one month. I own 4 and am buying more.
Bought my first pair in 2001
In 2001 I took up jogging without stretching first. My heels hurt so bad and have a high arch as well. I randomly found Bare Foot Science insoles at a Drug Store in Canada. I liked the process of how to regain strength and support and gave me instant relief. During the years I’ve ordered more to have in other shoes and recently took advantage of their past sale. No other insoles gave me the support I need.
Fixing my feet!
Got this product on the recommendation of my running coach. So far it’s fantastic. Fits well in my shoe, and seems to be working.
